We live in a world that is being gradually flattened by technology. Today, technology drives a major part of our society. We simply cannot imagine our lives without technology today. As of today, a lot of industries depend on technology for efficiency and productivity. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that most of that which makes our lives better depends on software. In the last decade, we have seen software take over the driving seat. It’d be hard to imagine the current world without either of those.
The software industry is one of the fastest growing sectors, and has been for a decade. Jobs in the software sector are some of the best paying ones. If you still haven’t, you should consider a career in software. Generally, our worldview of the software industry is confined to programming. It is definitely a large part of the industry however, it is by no means the be all and end all. There are several other roles: testers, developers, designers, computer scientists, etc.
Since software related work is highly complex, almost every tool and platform has related certification programs to help train people in the proper use of such software. To clarify it with an example, HP has something called Quality Center. It is a very good tool used for software lifecycle management. Other computing giants such as Sun and Cisco have their own certification programs, specifically for networking. These tools aren’t limited to these specific companies; in fact, almost everyone in the industry uses these. Hence, it would be beneficial to apply for Quality Center training.
Quality Center has undergone several changes and, from the version 11, HP has renamed it to Application Lifecycle Management (ALM). As obvious, it also has a certification course and training. Those who are certified are in high demand in today’s climate. Software giants are hiring these people aggressively. However, it isn’t exactly a cakewalk. Not everyone can (or does) qualify in the first attempt.
Planning and preparation are the key factors when you’re trying to get certified for Quality Center. Mock tests and quizzes can be really helpful, not just for Quality Center certification tests but for any similar certification. Keep in mind that software is intangible, it is created through only logic. Therefore training smart is just as important as training hard.
